 Dear Colleague, It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in a unique event dedicated to a unique product: olive oil. The 3rd TerraOlivo International Conference on Extra Virgin Olive Oil:  "Olive Oil Revolution – Quality, Culinary and Health" will bring together leading scientists that will discuss their works on health promotion and consumption of extra virgin olive oil. The program will include topics that discuss the influence of olive oil consumption, as a part of the Mediterranean diet, on preventing of inflammation, of diabetes and of fatty liver. There will be discussions on the abundance of -- and the means to combat global adulterations of -- extra virgin olive oil.A detailed preliminary program is presented in the conference website The conference will take place at Kfar Hamaccabiah Hotel, 10-13 June 2012.With participants from many countries the 3rd TerraOlivo Extra Virgin Olive Oil Conference will serve as an excellent meeting place to share ideas and design collaborations in research and trade, while exploring the roots of the ancient industry of olive oil in the Holy land. The first two days will be dedicated to presentations from more than 20 speakers, who are leaders in their fields. The following day will be dedicated to a tour to the Galilee to visit traditional olive orchard, olive mills and historical places that safeguard the birth of Christ.Don't miss this great opportunity to visit the sites where monotheistic religions arose and the olive tree was cultured to produce the desired virgin oil. We are still accepting abstracts for either oral or poster presentations. Early registration and abstract submission will end on March 29, 2012. The 10 years old conference has attracted over 1500 attendees in the recent years, and is expected to attract at least the same number this year. It will be devoted to ‘The Mediterranean Diet through the Life Cycle'. In addition to two sessions organized by TerraOlivo, and dedicated to olive oil, the program will include topics that discuss the influence of Mediterranean diet on longevity and different stages in life, women’s health, gastroenterology, and pediatrics. There will be discussions on the preventive effects of Mediterranean Diet on cancer, cardiovascular disease, obesity and diabetes.Join us for the exciting and mind storming events in the country – both ancient and modern – Where it all begun.
